Summary
Summary prepared by Cassie Rauk
In this podcast Paul, Samantha and Kyle finish up reviewing Botany in a Day by Thomas Elpel.
The last section of the book, which is called Properties of Plants, is geared toward herbalists and discusses many Fukouka-like reading the land and getting knowledge from nature. Kyle tells us that it is possible to figure out what the uses for the plants before you even know what the name of the plant is. Such as that sapiens, while it can be used to replace soap, does not help with oil and how oxalic acid can be used to treat external cancers.
Paul tells that while this book is great to teach you about plant families and is THE botany book it kinda reads like a phone book to him. Samantha tells Paul that once he gets more into botany and as time goes on, he will enjoy the book even more.
