I Moosaged you Annalisa. It will be great to catch up with Paul and Jocelyn and meet new folks. I had assumed in the earlier email I saw about this that it was a Sat eve thing... is there something else Sat eve?

I "normally" go to social events with a baby goat in my vest unless its too hot like its been all summer. Its cooler now but everyone has outgrown vest size except maybe one. She's been going to birthday parties and all kinds of things on leash lately. Other pets there that would be upset? Thoughts?

Paul.... does "pie" have to be sweet or can it be savory? How do I tag a specific person in here?

Hello I'm new here but not new to permaculture! Got my design certificate this past year. One of the highlights of my life.
Paul is one of my super hero's up there with Paul Stamets and a few others. I sure would love to come to the west seattle potluck but I have no idea what purple mooseging is...
If there is a spot available I'd love to come. Thanks! Jude

Hi All,

As of now, I can't take any more RSVPs. Thanks for understanding. I guess Paul and Jocelyn will just have to show up in Seattle more often or more of us Seattlites are gonna have to trek over to Missoula.

Thanks again,
Annalisa

Rain? Do we need umbrella like thing-a-ma-bobs?

I do like savory pie also. But since I am such a bitter person, I guess I need a good dose of the sweeter pies.

We are now in the Seattle area. One funeral out of the way. About to have dinner with jocelyn's folks.

I'm sorry to hear about the funeral, my condolences...

RE leaky sky. I have two covered patio areas, one guest is bringing a pop-up, Someone else has offered to bring umbrellas, I have a patio style umbrella, if I can figure out how to rig it for more sheltered space, so I think we're "covered" : )

Jude, check the email you attached to your forum account, you should have received a purple moos age from me. Let me know if you got it.

Constance Lee is going to pick us up at the Edmonds ferry dock, so we will be able to meet all you folks. Being recently here from CA, I may be a bit of a weather wimp, but I understand it is going to be rather stormy tomorrow with winds over 20mph. Does that work for an out of doors ...with cover potluck?

Sandra has a good point. Even with cover the winds are forecasted to be hard on pop-up covers. Maybe its sheltered there Annalisa? What's the nearest backup pub just in case? <g>

Hi Annalisa - I got your email about how to send a purple moosage but still haven't quite figured that out.
but I see from your message here that you're full up.
A day late and a dollar short!
Maybe next time.

I think we'll be okay even if it does get somewhat stormy. If worse comes to worst I just got a load of bamboo, we can lash together a wind break.
I guess, dress appropriately.
One thing I would like folks to do if possible is bring personal drinking vessels? I'd rather not use plastic cups if possible and I definitely don't have enough glasses for 30+
Thanks in advance,
Annalisa

I would like to thank Paul and Jocelyn for visiting us here in White Center yesterday, it was really wonderful to meet you both. I would also like to thank everyone who braved our rather blustery day, all in all I think we did okay with the outside location (but nice to know we had plan B just in case). It was really great to meet all of you and I hope we can plan other get togethers around the area if people would like to do so. I so enjoyed being to be able to have everyone over to my new place!

Thanks again,
Annalisa

Yes, thanks AnnaLisa and everyone else that I had an opportunity to experience. It was well worth the two+ hour commute from the Olympic Peninsula. It was cool that when I arrived, the empty chair was next to Paul and I got to have personal conversations....well not too personal. I am particularly grateful to have had the opportunity to meet Constance as she picked up up at the Edmunds Ferry dock. We got to drive back from 45th exit of 5 to her home thru Ballard and near the shore line and I got to see many parts of Seattle that I have never experienced before. She shared her amazing garden with us. I was truly inspired. I have never seen such large full fruited tomato plants before. If anyone ever needs to be camping out in our area, 18 miles south of Port Townsend, just let me know at www.dragonbellyfarm.wordpress.com (In case you haven't noticed, Jeffereson County is shaped like a dragon, and we are in the belly....there is also lots of local dragon lore). I hope to go back to Annalisa's this winter to get scion from her plum trees.

Such a cool group of people! I hope you all do continue to meet up, in your local areas or again in Seattle.

Thank you Annalisa (and Peter) for being the most amazing hosts! Awesomeness abounds with you guys.

Tried to upload 3 crappy pics, but I am at a remote cabin where it timed out. Trying just one this time. Someone *must* have better pics than mine!

I am brand new here, but not to Paul Wheaton or Permaculture. It was both an honor and privilege to be invited to attend the White Center Permies Get Together! It was a fun time with great people, quite the diversity of delicious fare, and very informative too. Thanks to Annalisa Giust for hosting the event, great to meet you (special thanks for that tasty coffee

Thank you Paul & Jocelyn for spending time with us, was wonderful to meet you both in person! If ever you come to the Olympic Peninsula again, please look me up

Yes, Jocelyn, I only took (44) pics at the event... Of those, I'd say around 30 are post worthy. I haven't uploaded all the ones I chose yet. Here is one of Paul:

I believe this is most of the group, listening to Paul Wheaton discussing growing superior organic produce, why we shouldn't use newspaper, cardboard, community compost, or most wood chips, determining how to identify the best soil without herbicide contamination, how to use sod instead of wood to build hugelkultur beds...

Thanks so much to Annalisa for hosting and Paul and Jocelyn for being up for meeting random people! I'm a lot more educated about wood chips now. I may still end up rolling the dice on moving some organic material into my garden, but I'll do that knowing the risks and trade offs. Just today I intercepted a landscaper who'd thrown a bunch of branches he trimmed from the next door neighbor's yard over into mine where he could get his truck up next to it, and told him to leave them. I don't know what may have been sprayed there years ago, but I don't know about my property either (all I know is I have a yard that is 50% dandelions).
