Summary

Paul Wheaton talks with steamy Ben Lawson, who wants to turn his dream of dryland ponds and chinampas into reality.

All summer events at the lab have been cancelled due to corona virus concerns. Paul shares ideas about staying safe during the pandemic and conjectures that the bootcamp might be the safest place to be. He intends to move forward on projects originally planned for the jamboree and to record them as videos and podcasts so people can experience them vicariously - 'wheaton labs and chill'. The biological reverse kickstarter can support his aim to get bootcamp running at triple velocity.

Ben teaches purple breathing hippy stuff, specialising in sexual healing from trauma. He also teaches permaculture to strippers and pole dancers. He invites Paul to a nude PDC but Paul declines as he doesn't want to be a creepy dude. Paul is adamant that the permie umbrella covers many schools of thought, including purple.

Chapter 13 of Mollison's Permaculture Design Manual is about aquaculture. Some of the diagrams suggest to Ben that he was on psychedelics. The PDM was written a long time ago but is still profound. Ben elaborates his 'wet dream' of a series of ponds with siphons and flow forms, supporting a market garden powered by people and free of toxins working in harmony with the land and utilising local, multipurpose species. Paul recounts his visit to Ben's locality where he led a three day earthworks workshop which was videoed and became the World Domination Gardening DVD set, currently offered in the digital market along with David Pagan Butler's natural swimming pool video and book as a streaming combo. Podcasts 121 and 122 review the movie.
