Is the "Rocket Ovens Cooking Microdoc" a separate thing?

All the kickstarter supporters will get it. But the peeps that are coming here after the kickstarter will need to buy it separately.
We have a new function in this software that I would like to try out where a person can upgrade to a package deal. So maybe I will create a package that is "the rocket ovens super package" that will contain the rocket ovens video plus the 12 microdocs for something like $45 and people can "upgrade" to that. Of course, that requires that we first get all the microdocs done.

I have no idea what it looks like, but i do see there is now a big link at the bottom of the hd streaming page. Anybody wanna try it and tell me if it is working okay?

Ralph Kettell wrote:Hi Paul,
Kudos to Tyler on his portion of the video. It is extremely well done, crystal clear and easy to follow with sufficient details for the average handy person to build one himself. The other parts of the video well not so much.
Is this the final version of the video? I ask because the other sections of the video gloss over items like the tray supports and racks for the oven. Yes you go over how you did it on an earlier version at Wheaton Labs, but I seen to recall hearing that this video was going to show how to build a complete rocket oven with no welding required. There is little discussion of how to build a rack to support the oven.
Also the portion showing the construction of a J tube is not up to the same standard that Tyler set in three first part. The materials are not detailed nearly as well and dimensions are minimal. Please let me know if more details are forthcoming.
Thanks

Would someone let me know the URL of "the hd streaming page" so I can try to find the upgrades links? Thanks a bunch!

I have some questions about the design, Is this the right tread for that? Of do you want to keep this confined to the DVD about the design instead of the design itself? If so please direct me to a more appropriate tread...
The build of the oven is very elegant. I love the way you use the treads in one of the inlets to mount the latch. What I was confused by is the way the outer barrel is cut. The lengthwise cut is placed at the top and then requires quite some fiddling to fix and make gas-tight-ish again. Why not do that at the bottom where you have to fiddle around to make the entrance for the heat riser anyway. presumably the hottest gasses got to the top where you want the outer barrel to be as sturdy as possible. Any reason I am overlooking for this choice?
While the oven is a thing of beauty is also looks absolutely massive. How would this design cope with downsizing to 2 30 gallon barrels? How much smaller would the J tube have to be to not overheat it?
Kind regards,
Xander

If its not a permalink then is there any way to be able to upgrade to the download version on a server that supports resume?

That is great to hear. Updating the current Rocket DVD plans by Including detailed J tube brick by brick plans to the Rocket Oven DVD plans, along with more details for the other parts of the oven, is a must for the plans to be complete.

paul wheaton wrote:During the kickstarter, the rocket ovens plans were just a glimmer in the eye of davin. I talked to him about making them a stretch goal or something and he said that he was super busy right then and didn't know if he would be able to do it.
About a month after the kickstarter was done, davin cranked them out.
So, the plans were not part of the kickstarter.
is there an upgrade
I am paul, the producer of the dvd. Davin is the producer of the plans. Totally different product. So, no upgrade.
