This is not a vortex rocket stove but it may help you out, here is a rocket engine plan. Built using bricks for the burn areas and metal to hold it together. Good luck on building a vortex rocket sotve.

Yes!

I have built a rocket oven, read about half of the book Growing Free by Michael Hoag & Laura Oldanie , started to track my monthly spending and more reading.

So about a year ago I started building a rocket oven. I have wanted to cook with one for sometime, you can see more here  and me cooking with it here. This project was hard but in the end cooking pizza without heating up my home in the summer will be cool!

I got the book Growing Free by Michael Hoag & Laura Oldanie around the start of this year. I am now about halfway thought the book and it overall a good book. In short, if one is into permaculture and into F.I.R.E. I would recommend reading this book.

I started to track my monthly spending to see in what areas could I reduce expenses. Before I would just look at my monthly statement to see what I spent vs. made but tracking did show me something new. I was spending more on my phone that I thought. It was double what I thought it was a month. So I changed my phone plant to a different company and so far it has be good.

One area I have been exploring is creating and building passive income streams. On this site there is an affiliate program this is at the bottom of the page. I have generated a little money from it but like with so many things in life there is a learning curve. I have explored other ideas like a Youtube channel. I read though most of the legal stuff and rules of the site. Besides the legal stuff and rules to get "paid" one must meet goals and milestones. So to get paid one need to spent time to create content and get people to view it.  Years ago when I was in college one of my class project was to make a three to four minute video. I found that to be a fun thing to do and it was a solo project. What I have found out since then is when one is filming it take double the time and energy. First you have to set up the shot then recorder it and maybe reshoot. Next edit the video which can eat up time. Lastly post to a site and hope that the keywords, title, and subject will get people to watch it. Another learning curve but it is something I am exploring.

Looking good!
Divert some smoke in there and try these.
Smoked baked potato, basted with garlic butter!!!
Then there is stuffed roasted chicken.
Beef and Pork roasts for those non-vegetarians out there.

I have thought about adding smoking chips in the oven. How would one divert smoke in to the oven?

I  have bees but they died. I have tried to set up swarm boxes to get a wild hive but I am having no luck.

Yes it is an odd picture but if you look in the oven you can see pizza. A vegan cheese, garlic and tomato pizza!

John Craig wrote:T. blankenship, thanks for the great video and pictures of your build.  Congratulations on being an oven rocketeer!  It looks as though your rocket oven is in a covered area.  If you decide to move it out into the elements, you will need to seal your cob realy well.
My outdoor oven's cob was sealed with waterproofing compound. This spring I noticed that there was some flaking of the cob. Apparently I hadn't sealed it well enough.
My solution was to spray flex seal on the cob, and it seems to have made it weather proof. Time will tell!

Thanks

It is my understanding that cob needs to breath and if cob is sealed it will not be good. This was the first time I have used cob on a project so I am still learning. Using books and videos has helped me with making cob. In the end I just need to make more cob to get better at it. One thought I have had is to build another rocket oven but add some of my ideas to it. Like replacing the cob with a round metal ring with insulation on the back. But that is just a thought.

Have you built an rocket oven or cooked something in a rocket oven? Do you have pictures, video or both? If you answered yes to both questions please post about it here!

So this is my first video of my Rocket Oven. Showing just how big the oven is and what can go inside.

I have about 15 minutes of unedited video and is in 1080p. I think with a little work I could get maybe 5 minutes but I can do more if the weather is good. One idea I have had is a series about using a rocket oven like: how many pounds of wood to cook (blank) amount of food, hardwoods vs. softwoods and if there is a good idea maybe try it!  Here is a few screen shot from some videos:
