About Tour Of Wheaton Labs

Nestled in the mountains near Missoula, Montana, USA lies a hidden laboratory where experiments are conducted to make the world a better place. In this 2 hour movie, you will follow the lead Mad Scientist, Paul Wheaton, as he shows you his many experiments to gain world domination....with world domination meaning a world full of permaculture!

There are experiments in how to grow food in an optimal and ecologically sound way: hugelkultur, grey water systems, zero-energy greenhouses, water retention, and earthworks.

Wofati greenhouse and Hugels

To reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and use energy more efficiently, there are efficient woodburning rocket stoves, rocket mass heaters, rocket ovens, solar ovens, solar dehydrators and even a solar glass recycler.

Rocket cookstove and Solar dehydrator

In efforts to make homes more natural, affordable, and energy efficient, there is a rocket mass heated tipi, as well as various earth-sheltered homes called Wofaties. These wofatis are built from natural materials and require little to no heating and cooling.

Rocket mass heater in tipi and Natural floors

Follow Paul Wheaton as he guides you through over 300 acres of permaculture and homesteading experiments!

I purchased two per what I committed to.   Would be glad to give someone the second one as a gift…let me know if you have someone who needs it and can’t afford it

Paul, I'm in the process of setting up the thread where we can gift folks with a copy of this tour movie, and folks can ask for a gift of the tour movie. WHich forum section is the best place to post the thread? And I will link it here for everyone. =)

Thank you for your dedication to changing the world.

Obviously have not seen it yet...but it may be something that would prove to be valuable to pass around some DVD's to folks who might be interested.

I'm in! I also like the DVD idea (limited data here in the Pinelands). Also like the idea of a give a gift/request a gift forum.
Looking forward to this flick!

Only being able to stream can make it unavailable for those of us who live on homesteads with limited internet options and unreliable slow speeds/data limits.

This is kind of the opposite of the first queston above -- is there no Paypal option for non-US residents? Gumroad takes me directly to a Stripe-powered credit-card-only payment system, is that correct?

US stuff is paypal.  Gumroad stuff is stripe.

I thought we were doing really good by finally sorting out the VAT stuff with gumroad.

Stripe is a problem?

No, no, Stripe is fine! And the automatic tax calculation seems to be working correctly (which is huge, kudos). I don't have my own credit card and prefer to pay by Paypal, but luckily I have friends who don't mind my asking them to buy me something with their card and I pay them back, so it's all good

It was suggested by one of the staff that I start a thread for the gifting/requesting a gift purpose. I am awaiting an answer from staff which forum section to post the thread. Will also post a link in this thread as soon as this is set up.

Thank you for gifting someone. This is awesome how we can be a part of this worldwide community.

I'm confused by the message I got when I clicked the gift code link. It told me that it was a preorder and the link to view would appear when it was ready, that I understood.
But below that was the word "Upgrade" with a box below saying something about purchasing for $10 and receiving a gift.  It's confusing.  Do I need to do anything else?

Freyda, i think the code will begin to work once the movie is completed and  released to the wider audience. At this point there is no movie, we are all just waiting for the completion.

And I think the second part you mention is kind of a promotional link, for anyone who would like to do that. not something that you have to do to get the movie.

Staff, If I am incorrect, feel free to correct this.

All the stuff in the digital market has a "gift" system.  So after you buy a thing, you can buy a gift for somebody else.

You are exactly correct, Alex! The "Update" bit is there in case you decided to buy a gift code for someone else.

After the movie is produced, the part that says

Thank you for your purchase! Note that this is a "pre-order." We will notify you when the movie is completed!

Once the movie is made, this space here will be occupied by the movie for you to watch!

Will be replaced by the video!

I am watching the full movie now ...   it is looking really good ....  we might be able to get this movie out in a few days!

I'm being asked about what to put in the credits.   Anybody wanna toss some extra coin in to be called a producer?  Or some silly credits?

Maybe there can be three people that pay something like $300 extra to be listed as "associate producer"

Maybe there can be 40 people that pay something like $40 extra to be listed in scrolling credits as a role or as a keygrip or something.  And the roles can be stuff like "exective moose" or "arranger of small cheeses"

Maybe one person wants to be "executive producer" for $500 and another person wants to be "supreme executive producer with bacon, cheese and sparkles" for $1000?

I'm just making this up as I go .....   what do you all think?
